Power Swabs Helps Conquer Childhood Cancers With The St. Baldrick's Foundation
MELVILLE, NY (March 17, 2014) -- Every three minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. One in five will not survive.
Power Swabs is pleased to announce its participation with the St. Baldrick's Foundation's head-shaving event at Lily Flanagan's Pub in Babylon, NY on Sunday, March 23rd from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Company employees will join with other local residents in having their heads shaved as the culmination of a fundraising campaign to help raise money to fight childhood cancers. Donors who wish to contribute to Team Power Swabs may do so via the team's page: www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/92839/2014
175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year. In the United States, more children die of cancer than any other disease -- more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital abnormalities and diabetes combined. Despite this, less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget is allocated to childhood cancer research. Childhood cancer is a term that includes more than a dozen types of cancer, each with many subtypes, each requiring specific research to develop the most effective treatments.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity focused on funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The head-shaving grew out of a single event in 2000 to over 1,300 events in 2012.
Power Swabs, invented by Dr. Martin Giniger in 2008, is the breakthrough at-home professional-level teeth whitening system that promises noticeable results within just the first five minutes of use. Using cotton swabs instead of the whitening strips or trays customers were previously accustomed to, users can target specific areas they feel are most in need of whitening for just five minutes a day. In clinical studies, Power Swabs users saw their teeth improve an average of six shades after seven days. In reviews, users reported feeling minimal to no sensitivity as a result of the patented two-step solution that hydrates teeth before whitening them.
